Smart, Attractive, and Fun-Loving: The Truth About Blondes!

Linked table of contents

Blondes are not dumb. They have a high Intelligence Quotient (IQ). This stereotype is wrong. They are attractive, glamorous, fun-loving, relaxed, and carefree.

The color of our hair is a unique aspect in defining our identity and a distinctive element that enhances our facial features. While the hair color does not fully reflect our personality, it can influence how people recognize and deal with us. However, it will be incorrect to judge a person’s personality based only on the hair color, as it is done by categorizing blonde-colored hair people as dumb.

Stereotypes about Hair Color and personality

A blonde woman

Our hair color must be used to define us and not discriminate against us. However, certain hair colors were linked to specific personalities, and in fact, research indicates that hair colors also influence perceptions.

Hence, stereotypes such as the dumb female blonde were reinforced in Hollywood movies by the female lead character Reese Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde” and Marilyn Monroe in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.”

The “Dumb blonde” phenomenon is a wrong stereotype that associates hair color with intelligence and needs serious attention and fixes. Moreover, this stereotype is commonly associated with a blonde girl, and this is unacceptable. Blondes (both men and women) are smart people with a high intelligence quotient (IQ).

Studies demonstrate that Blondes are not dumb

Statistical evidence from researchers proves that any form of prejudice against people with blonde hair is inappropriate. Studies establish that Blondes have a high average intelligence quotient (IQ). And this analysis holds good for both men and women with blonde hair. While a study was not required to certify that hair color does not influence a person’s intelligence, we are glad that someone took the initiative to do so.

Having such stereotypes about just the color of the hair will heavily influence a person’s life both on the personal and professional levels. And, not to forget, numerous jokes and memes that are floated on social media about blondes being dumb.

Why do blondes have a higher IQ?

While we have been insisting that Blondes have higher IQ compared to people with other hair colors and that studies also approve of the same, it is interesting to understand the actual reason for the same. The upbringing of blondes was in an environment with exposure to a lot of reading material and homes that stimulated intellectual knowledge.

It was not surprising that blondes developed the required expertise to nourish their brains with the required knowledge and know-how to attain the intelligence quotient as certified by research scientists.

Characteristics of Blonde-haired people

Now that we have established that it is a disgrace to label blondes as dumb and that blondes are sharp and knowledgeable, we also need to recognize that they are attractive, glamorous, fun-loving, relaxed, and carefree.

Additionally, it is because of their hair color, Blondes get a lot of attention in public, especially the blonde women. This way, it may sometimes be challenging to identify women with naturally blonde hair, which again defeats the personality generalizations drawn on blonde women.

Famous Blonde Personalities

Though it is incorrectly stereotyped that blonde women depend on their looks to portray their intelligence, we can find many famous and successful blonde personalities who have defied this rule.

Famous blonde personalities such as Marilyn Monroe, Hillary Clinton, Emma Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Jennifer Lawrence show that not just their looks but it was their impeccable talent, hard work, and persistence that gave them the pinnacle of success.

Conclusion

Like the popular saying “Looks may be deceptive,” it is inappropriate to judge a person’s character and behavior from their outer appearance, be it their hair color or the dress they wear. Let us move away from the falsehood that blonde equals dumbness and look at the positive side that blonde means center of attention. Let us not forget that having blonde hair is nothing less than wearing a golden crown with a head held high with pride and confidence.
